A miraculous thing happened in the plains of Nebraska, in a little town called Omaha. Will Rix and his wife, Jodeen, needed some information about the USS John R. Craig DD885 for a naval claim, and decided to try and find some shipmaPortside view 1945 Craigtes who could help. One shipmate led to another, and after nearly 40 years they planned a reunion in Omaha, Nebraska in 1989 and 17 shipmates showed up. From this reunion the USS John R. Craig Reunion Association was born. Since then we have had reunions all over the country. The association is open to any sailor (Officer or Enlisted) who served aboard the Craig from Commissioning (1945) to de-commissioning (1979).Portside view 1962 Craig It's easy to sign up for a hitch with the association. Click on the Membership tab and fill out the application form and send it with your check to the Treasurer. The association puts out four newsletters per year (quarterly) to keep its members up to date on what's going on with-in the association. There is also a reunion put on every year, usually hosted by a member of the association. This is where you can meet your old shipmate and meet new ones.
So we invite all of you who served aboard the USS John R. Craig DD885 to come aboard and join in the fellowship with your ex-shipmates and tell those sea stories and "Remember When" .
